About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks in assigned areas to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves a variety of duties to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of school facilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or janitorial experience.
Knowledge of safety regulations related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean windows, doors, and walls.
Maintain the cleanliness of hallways, stairwells, and common areas.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
Assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed.
Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Follow established safety procedures and guidelines.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
