About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs janitorial work, maintains assigned areas and equipment, and follows safety, company, and customer-service protocols. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned, and responsibilities may change with or without notice.

Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all safety and task-training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Frequently required to sit, talk, or listen.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability is a plus.
Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the upkeep of assigned areas and cleaning equipment.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor; comply with safety rules and stop at-risk behavior.
Perform repetitive tasks, maintain a clean work area, and work as part of a team.
Follow protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities if necessary to perform the job’s essential functions.
