About The Position

Responsible for minor maintenance repairs and maintaining the clean, orderly appearance of the collection center. The Custodian cleans employee and donor areas, restrooms, windows, doors, and surrounding grounds; performs minor maintenance; helps manage shipping materials and supplies; and supports a safe, efficient work environment. The role requires following HSE and OSHA policies, maintaining confidentiality, and may include cross-training or other job-related duties to meet business needs. Bilingual skills may be required at the organization's discretion.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
• May be required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum three months of custodian experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization's discretion to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Clean tables, chairs, cabinets, counters, and appliances in the employee break room and donor waiting area.
• Vacuum carpets, dust furniture, and remove trash.
• Clean windows and doors at least daily.
• Perform minor maintenance, including changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, painting, and minor plumbing and carpentry tasks.
• Monitor the grounds and parking lots around the center and pick up litter as required.
• Assist in recycling and repackaging shipping materials.
• Inspect and clean restrooms throughout the day, replace paper and soap supplies, and perform minor custodial tasks as needed.
• Receive vendor supplies and move supplies from storage to released and quarantined areas.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure operating supplies and forms are available as needed.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and procedures and promote safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned; may be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
