About The Position

Auxilio provides specialized management services to school districts. The Custodian is responsible for daily cleaning, upkeep, and minor maintenance of assigned school facilities to maintain a clean environment for students. This is a part-time position with a four-hour shift from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Immediate hiring is indicated. The position includes cleaning and maintaining building interiors and grounds, supporting minor repairs, securing the building at the end of the shift, following safety and product-handling procedures, and protecting confidential student information. Duties and responsibilities may change or be added at any time, with or without notice.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license required.
Subject to background check and drug screen.
Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
Ability to read basic operating instructions and warning signs.
Ability to cooperate with other staff members and adapt to changes in the work environment.
Dependability and punctuality required.
Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations.
Ability to support school functions and community activities as needed.
Commitment to a safety lifestyle.
Able to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting, carrying, and moving supplies or equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 months of cleaning experience preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas daily, including furniture, fixtures, walls, windows, lockers, glass, display cases, partitions, light fixtures, floor mats, runners, and floors.
Keep the building and premises, including sidewalks and play areas, neat and clean.
Shovel and salt outside walkways and steps as appropriate.
Keep floors and corridors clean and attractive.
Scrub, mop, and disinfect toilets and lunchroom floors daily; clean sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
Wash interior and exterior windows as necessary and when weather permits.
Remove trash regularly, empty trash cans daily, and help keep the grounds free of garbage.
Assist with minor building repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, and report major repairs and property damage to management.
Close and secure the building by checking doors and windows and turning off lights except those needed for safety.
Vacuum or power-clean carpets and upholstered furnishings and spot-clean stains.
Move or arrange furnishings, supplies, and equipment as directed.
Polish hardware, including handles, push/kick plates, handrails, and drinking fountains.
Inform management about workplace concerns such as damaged equipment, leaks, noises, structural defects, and unusual odors.
Notify management when supplies need replenishment.
Follow Material Safety Data Sheet information and ensure materials are labeled and stored properly; seek advice about product use or disposal procedures when needed.
Follow approved health and safety guidelines when cleaning injuries involving chemicals, solvents, blood, body fluids, or body tissues.
Report personal injuries requiring treatment to management.
Follow company policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Attend safety, training, and informational meetings.
Protect district property and secure assigned work areas at the end of the shift.
Maintain a professional appearance and wear appropriate work attire.
Be punctual and promptly notify management about attendance delays or absences.
Adhere to FERPA regulations and maintain confidentiality.
Perform other duties as assigned.
