About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The position performs janitorial and scheduled upkeep duties, handles special and hazardous waste, and operates motorized cleaning equipment. The employee maintains a clean work area, reports incidents and hazardous conditions, follows safety and company procedures, uses appropriate personal protective equipment, and works professionally with colleagues, supervisors, managers, and customers. Driving to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform essential functions. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties and assignments may change or be added at any time. The listed schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with compensation of $17.09–$18.09 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and willingness to share that knowledge with the team.
Knowledge of cleaning equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Completion of all safety and task-training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required depending on business needs; employees who drive for work must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Bilingual ability is a plus.
Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily upkeep of assigned areas and keep the work area clean.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, protocols, and company rules.
Stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others.
Perform repetitive tasks and work assignments as part of a team.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities if necessary for essential job functions.
