About The Position
Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention center/arena, or other institutional buildings clean and orderly. Performs cleaning and related duties, with other duties possibly assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The work environment may occasionally involve high or precarious places and exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Noise levels are sometimes loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. No prior experience or training is required. The role requires the ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence, write simple correspondence, communicate in English in one-on-one and small-group situations, perform basic arithmetic using common units of measurement, and follow simple instructions in standardized situations. No computer skills or certifications are needed.
Requirements
- No prior experience or training required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to present information in English effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, including using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- No computer skills needed.

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including regularly standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing; frequently climbing or balancing; and frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
- Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Polish metalwork.
- Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
- Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays.
- Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
