About The Position

The Custodian maintains clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions throughout Permalite offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and designated production support areas. The position performs routine cleaning, restocking, waste removal, and cleaning-supply and equipment upkeep. The work is performed in a warehouse environment with moderate noise, moving equipment, and temperature variations. The role involves extended standing and walking, using stairs, bending, reaching, repetitive cleaning tasks, and moving cleaning supplies, equipment, and trash, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Ability to follow cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
Familiarity with basic cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate supply needs and maintenance concerns promptly.
Ability to perform the stated physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Sweep and mop the front lobby and hallway floors.
Clean tables and arrange chairs neatly.
Clean doors, windows, and interior glass, and disinfect door handles.
Clean and dust office and laboratory desks without disturbing documents, equipment, or laboratory materials.
Vacuum office carpets; sweep laboratory floors and mop as needed.
Empty office-area trash containers and replace liners.
Clean and disinfect first- and second-floor restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
Replenish restroom supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
Clean first- and second-floor break rooms, including tables, counters, sinks, and floors; restock designated supplies and empty trash containers.
Sweep production stairways and common areas, and pick up trash.
Collect and dispose of trash from Shipping and Maintenance areas and around the building in designated containers.
Keep assigned areas free of cleaning-related obstructions and slip hazards.
Monitor cleaning supply inventory and request replenishment before supplies run out.
Keep cleaning equipment and storage areas clean and organized.
Follow product labels and company procedures for using, labeling, and storing cleaning chemicals.
Use required personal protective equipment and wet-floor signs.
Promptly report damage, leaks, unsafe conditions, and needed repairs to the supervisor or manager.
Perform other related janitorial duties as assigned.
