About The Position

Performs general maintenance and housekeeping for the Area Command and helps maintain the facilities’ safety, neatness, and cleanliness daily. The role includes facilities cleaning responsibilities (80%) and other responsibilities (20%). Work is performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to dirt, dust, disagreeable sights or odors, and varying temperatures. The work requires substantial physical effort, including frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and continuous walking, standing, stooping, squatting, bending, and some climbing. Duties are primarily performed standing, with brief or occasional periods of sitting.

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, and standing, and some climbing.
Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform janitorial work.
Ability to perform duties involving squatting, climbing, bending, and walking.
Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Six months of experience performing general janitorial and general maintenance duties, or an equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
