Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous custodial experience preferred

- While performing the duties of this job the employee is: Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear

- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low
- It is required to act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by adhering to all ALPLA policies and procedures and Safety Standards (OSHA).
Responsibilities
- Support overall plant housekeeping standards to promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Clean designated production and non-production areas in accordance with plant requirements
- Assist with removal of non-hazardous debris, cardboard, and general waste from operational areas
- Help maintain walkways, aisles, entrances, and exits free of clutter and trip hazards
- Support 5S and housekeeping initiatives throughout the facility
- Assist in maintaining appearance and cleanliness of exterior entryways and surrounding areas
- Support seasonal or weather-related facility needs such as salt application, entry mat upkeep, or snow/ice awareness around entrances (if applicable)
- Help identify facility issues that may require maintenance attention
- Support special cleaning projects during shutdowns, audits, inspections, or plant events
- Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and housekeeping procedures
- Use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and according to instructions
- Report unsafe conditions, spills, leaks, damaged equipment, or sanitation concerns to leadership
- Ensure cleaning practices align with plant safety, GMP (if applicable), and environmental expectations
- Maintain awareness of pedestrian and forklift traffic while performing duties
