About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the safe operation and normal maintenance of the ice arena at Sharks Ice in Fremont. This part-time, non-exempt position contributes to guests’ entertainment experience by cleaning and maintaining the facility, keeping the building clean, and providing customer service while the facility is open. The role requires working with cleaning materials and solutions, following facility policies and emergency procedures, and performing additional duties as required. Shifts vary with business needs, may last up to eight hours, and can occur any day or time of the week, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must clear a background check.
• Must wear the SSE-assigned uniform during all shifts.
• Positive attitude and self-motivation.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding essential duties, including kneeling, bending, stooping, sweeping, mopping, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, reaching, carrying trash and garbage, emptying trash cans, restocking restrooms, and carrying buckets that may contain liquids.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a cold environment.
• Must not be allergic to the cleaning materials and solutions used.
• Availability for shifts extending into late-night and/or early-morning hours.
• Ability to operate basic janitorial equipment, such as a floor scrubber, floor machine, vacuum, and basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the facility to contribute positively to guests’ entertainment experience.
• Use cleaning materials and solutions to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Ensure the overall cleanliness of the building.
• Provide excellent customer service while the facility is open for business.
• Ensure facility policies are properly implemented.
• Know emergency procedures for equipment and the evacuation plan.
• Perform additional duties as required.
