About The Position
South Georgia Technical College is seeking a Custodian to maintain the proper care of its buildings and facilities. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks, replacing supplies, moving furniture, and setting up for college events. The Custodian will also maintain tools and equipment and pick up trash. This is a full-time position with a robust benefits package.
Requirements
- Knowledge of custodial tools and methods, safety guidelines, college policies and procedures.
- Skill in use of cleaning tools and supplies.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be student-oriented and customer-friendly.
- Ability to push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently.
- Ability to walk and stand for 4-8 hours.
- Must be able to grip, hold, and turn objects in his/her hands.
- Must be able to exert 25-49 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Candidates must pass a criminal background check, MVR, and drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of work experience in the field or related field within the last 3 years.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment including carpet/floor machines.
- A regionally accredited high school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Maintains proper care of South Georgia Technical College's buildings and facilities.
- Performs cleaning duties.
- Replaces bathroom supplies and light bulbs.
- Moves furniture.
- Sets up chairs, tables, podiums, etc. for special events and college functions.
- Maintains tools and equipment needed for the position.
- Picks up trash.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
