About The Position

Williams College is hiring multiple Custodians to join its Custodial Services team within the Facilities Department. The department operates and maintains a safe, beautiful, and sustainable environment for living and learning. This is a full-time, year-round position working 40 hours per week and is eligible for the College’s comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., but may change based on departmental needs. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required. The role is eligible for premium pay, including overtime and applicable shift differentials, for qualifying work such as holidays, weekends, and emergency snow response. Pay is $20.75–$22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Application review begins immediately and continues until all positions are filled.

Requirements

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Basic knowledge of computers.
Ability to follow standing instructions in operating manuals, safety data sheets, and safety rules and regulations for personal protection and safe equipment and chemical use.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and sanitizing dispensing units.
Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Ability to utilize wearable equipment.
