About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning the facility, including removing trash, cleaning floors, and general dusting and cleaning. The position also helps set up the building for special events and for use by outside agencies or groups, and promotes good community relations among community members and school clientele. This position supports district sustainability policies, helps maintain building and equipment condition, and ensures the general security of buildings. The role is based at the Early Childhood Center - South, is scheduled for 20 hours per week at 0.50 FTE, and is a year-round position with 260 scheduled work days per year. The listed minimum hire rate is $18.46 per hour and the maximum hire rate is $23.80 per hour; the full salary range is $18.46–$29.14 per hour, based on full-time FTE, with part-time pay prorated.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Frequently lift 5 to 50 pounds and occasionally lift 50 to 100 pounds.
Frequently walk extensively, bend, stand, reach, and stoop.
Occasionally climb, kneel, and squat.

Responsibilities

Complete all tasks in the current Custodial Cleaning Specifications to maintain a clean facility.
Remove snow and ice from walkways and other areas.
Report maintenance issues and perform general maintenance of equipment used.
Support all District Sustainability Policies.
Assist the Supervisor with timely and correct setups for groups, special events, or activities involving staff or outside users.
Ensure building security, including closing and locking doors and windows.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Develop and promote good community relations among community members and school clientele.
