About The Position

The Custodian performs on-site custodial work in accordance with contract specifications. The position is part-time and based in Cumberland, Maryland. It is considered essential personnel, so the employee must report to work during inclement weather. The role may involve working at the primary job site and other sites as needed.

Requirements

Ability to pass pre-screenings, such as background or drug screenings.
Reliable transportation and ability to get to the job site and other sites as needed.
Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; loads over 50 pounds require assistance and correct use of a lifting belt.
Ability to work on foot for long periods and lift and move items up and down stairs.
Ability to learn and perform custodial procedures and techniques and use light and heavy custodial equipment.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned indoor and outdoor work areas, including removing trash, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping or dust mopping, wet mopping, and disinfecting restrooms.
Assist with periodic work such as stripping and sealing floors, cleaning carpets, and washing windows.
Learn and perform custodial procedures and techniques and use light and heavy custodial equipment.
Attend required agency meetings and training sessions.
Understand and consistently follow required safety procedures and policies.
Present a positive and professional image to employees and customers.
Relate to and understand the needs of disabled and disadvantaged individuals.
Lift up to 50 pounds; use assistance for heavier loads and correctly use a lifting belt.
Work on foot for long periods and lift and move items up and down stairs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Report to work during inclement weather and travel to the job site and other sites as needed.
