About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for general cleaning and maintaining the building in good condition. The role includes cleaning floors and restrooms, handling spills and trash, maintaining cleaning supplies, performing minor repairs, and working with a contract cleaning service when needed. The position is located at American Boxboard LLC in Bedford Park, Illinois, and is listed for the third shift, at $18.00–$22.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to manage time efficiently.
• Ability to work well when supervisors are not present.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial work.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
• High school diploma.
• Ability to use basic cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the building.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Clean and stock restrooms.
• Ensure doors are locked after hours.
• Clean up spills using appropriate equipment.
• Perform minor repairs and notify supervisors or managers of major repairs.
• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Keep cleaning supplies in stock.
• Work with a contract cleaning service when necessary.
