About The Position

DM Burr is hiring a full-time Custodian for a second-shift position at the Troy School District. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and the wage is $18.00 per hour. The role is responsible for cleaning and caring for an assigned facility, maintaining cleaning equipment, documenting completed work, and performing light building maintenance as needed. A $200 hiring bonus is offered after 90 days. DailyPay is available, allowing employees to work today and get paid tomorrow. Its customers include schools, government and public facilities, manufacturing plants, financial institutions, and retail centers.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or technical school certification.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
0–6 months of custodial or janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, and stripping machines.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
Close attention to detail.
Team aptitude and approach.

Responsibilities

Clean and care for the assigned facility using approved methods and materials.
Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines, and vacuums.
Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
Empty trash receptacles.
Remove stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions as needed.
Clean furniture, window sills, and walls; dust and wash walls; clean ceilings; and polish light fixtures.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas.
Clean and stock restrooms, the janitorial closet, and break rooms.
Record and document cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to the Supervisor.
Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
Report major safety items requiring repair.
Perform other duties as assigned.
