About The Position

Fortis Native Group is seeking a Custodian to support the US Army Corps of Engineers. This fully onsite position reports to the Program Manager and performs custodial duties for government contracts, including cleaning and disinfecting facilities. Applicants must pass agency and federal background checks and a drug screen, be authorized to work in the United States, and meet eligibility requirements for access to government computer systems and/or facilities. Drug screens follow federal guidelines. The work is physically demanding and requires the ability to move, carry, and store items; clean, dust, and wipe rooms containing furniture; and clean floors and carpets. The stated wage is $15.35 per hour, plus $5.09 per hour in health and welfare benefits for up to 40 hours per week. These benefit funds may instead be taken as additional hourly pay, for an effective wage of $20.44 per hour. Fortis Native Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements

Good communication skills.
Pass agency and federal background checks and a drug screen.
Be authorized to work in the United States.
Meet eligibility requirements for access to government computer systems and/or facilities.
Have the physical capacity to move, carry, and store items and clean, dust, and wipe rooms, furniture, floors, and carpets.
3–5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

Perform custodial duties for government contracts.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors.
Remove chips, trash, and other refuse.
Dust equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
Polish metal fixtures and trimmings.
Clean lavatories, showers, and restrooms.
Disinfect high-touch areas, including doorknobs, light switch covers, and desktops.
