About The Position

The Custodian Manufacturing cleans and maintains production equipment and machinery, keeping manufacturing floors free of debris and hazards. The role includes disposing of waste materials according to safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting sustainability initiatives at the facility. The position also performs general custodial tasks throughout the premises, including floor, furniture, restroom, window, and exterior-area cleaning. Some duties may vary slightly by location.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
1–3 years of previous custodial or janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (Preferred).
High proficiency in industrial cleaning techniques and equipment.
High proficiency in safety and hazardous materials handling.
High proficiency in attention to detail.
High proficiency in physical stamina and dexterity.
High proficiency in following procedures and safety protocols.
Medium proficiency in understanding cleaning chemicals and products.
Medium proficiency in working independently and as part of a team.
Medium proficiency in effective communication.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain production equipment and machinery.
Keep manufacturing floors and work areas clean and free of debris and hazards.
Dispose of waste materials according to safety regulations.
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; and empty and clean waste baskets and trash containers.
Clean ash trays and cigarette urns and refill restroom dispensers.
Assist with setting up facilities for meetings, conferences, and events.
Clean hard-surface floors and vacuum carpets.
Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, extractors, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for cleaning and general maintenance.
Wash walls and use ladders when required for work assignments.
Unlock and lock assigned areas, check for unlocked doors, report unauthorized occupants, and turn off lights.
Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools as needed, obtaining help if required.
Wash accessible interior and exterior windows, clean blinds, and launder cleaning dust mops.
Maintain exterior premises, including building entrances, front and back lots, and docking areas, by removing trash and debris.
Conduct routine inspections to help prevent larger maintenance issues.
Report safety hazards and perform emergency cleanups as needed.
Clean according to 5S standards and support recycling and sustainability efforts.
