About The Position

Seabury is seeking an enthusiastic, caring Custodian to work in its Continuing Care Community. The role involves housekeeping and maintenance work, including operating commercial cleaning machines and floor and carpet maintenance equipment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating weekends. Employees who work 32 or more hours also receive additional benefits. Seabury is a not-for-profit Active Life Plan Community on 66 acres in Connecticut, providing Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, homemaker companion services, and a home-based life care program. Requirements

At least 6 months of experience in a similar position working with commercial cleaning machines and equipment.
Ability to read, speak, and understand English clearly.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures, practices, safety regulations, and guidelines.
Working knowledge of floor and carpet maintenance equipment.
Courtesy and cooperation in dealing with residents and staff.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, or push for most of the workday.

Responsibilities

Perform housekeeping and maintenance functions in the Continuing Care Community.
Use commercial cleaning machines and floor and carpet maintenance equipment.
Follow verbal and written instructions and applicable safety regulations and guidelines.
Work independently while interacting courteously and cooperatively with residents and staff.
