About The Position

The custodian is responsible for keeping the facilities in a safe and sanitary condition. This is a regular, continuous position at OSU-Institute of Technology. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends. The schedule changes to 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. during dormitory turnaround. The position is classified as essential personnel and may require attendance during inclement weather. Work may involve possible exposure to fumes and cleaning solutions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred; degree must be conferred on or before the agreed-upon start date.
Demonstrate a history of ethical and professional behavior.
Previous experience as a general custodian.
Knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies.
Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.
An Oklahoma driver's license is required if the position's duties require use of a personal or university vehicle.
Ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
Ability to read and understand MSDS sheets and department directives.
Ability to manage multiple work priorities and work with minimal supervision in a self-motivated manner.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, reach, and walk up and down stairs; must have use of all limbs.
Ability to read, write, and follow directives.
Ability to communicate effectively with a positive attitude.
Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
As essential personnel, may be required to attend work during inclement weather.
