About The Position

The Custodian provides custodial and basic building maintenance services at one or more locations within a District. The role requires entry-level knowledge of building maintenance and support for trades such as electrical, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, doors, roofs, and golf carts. The position works with minimum direct supervision and as part of a team, while maintaining a safe environment for employees and customers. The posting also describes the position as Maintenance Worker.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3–6 months of related experience and/or training.
• Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Entry-level knowledge of basic building maintenance and some trade support.

Responsibilities

• Ensure company cleanliness and appearance standards are met or exceeded in offices, restrooms, exterior areas, company units, and hallways.
• Clean vacated units promptly and check that doors, latches, and alarms function.
• Conduct pest control inspections and take appropriate actions.
• Handle and store chemicals and cleaners in compliance with safety standards.
• Monitor facility condition and report maintenance needs and potential equipment failures to the Store Manager.
• Perform minor nonstructural carpentry repairs and replacements on doors, fences, and buildings; may also perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Perform touch-up painting and landscape maintenance.
• Ensure sufficient supplies are available to perform job duties.
• Demonstrate general knowledge of site management, including customer service skills and daily operational knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned, work with minimum direct supervision, and operate effectively on a team.
• Maintain a safe environment for employees and customers.
