About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. This on-call position may require availability for shifts that occur or conclude early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Ability to perform each essential duty safely and satisfactorily.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including their upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Completion of all required safety and task training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive for work must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
May be required to be forklift certified.

Nice To Haves

3–6 months of training or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual ability.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Handle hazardous waste, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of assigned and work areas.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior by oneself or others; and use proper personal protective equipment.
Perform repetitive tasks and work as part of a team.
Follow protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct and support customer service and satisfaction.
Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities if needed to perform the essential functions of the position.
Understand reporting systems and the work environment.
