About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a custodian for its new inpatient residential location in Norfolk, Virginia. The role supports the cleanliness and smooth operation of the facility and provides operational support as needed by the Executive Director. The custodian completes scheduled facility-upkeep checklists and reports completed work and concerns.

Requirements

• CPR certification is required.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
• Dignified, honest character that models recovery principles.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of two years of related experience is preferred.
• For candidates in recovery, a minimum of one year of sustained sobriety is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and smooth function of the property and plant.
• Perform routine custodial duties, including cleaning, restocking, and removing garbage.
• Provide operational support as required by the Executive Director.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists to ensure facility cleanliness and upkeep.
• Report completed activities and escalate concerns to the Executive Director.
