About The Position

Under the direction of the Task Order Manager, the Custodian supports daily custodial maintenance and operations under the contract. The role involves a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities. The incumbent keeps the supervisor apprised of unusual situations and problems encountered. The position is onsite in Sacramento, California, scheduled Monday through Friday for four hours each day (20 hours per week). Pay is $18.68 per hour, plus a $5.09 per hour Health and Welfare Fringe Cash-Out, for a stated total of $23.77 per hour.

Requirements

General knowledge of hand and power tools.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Valid state driver's license with an excellent driving record; must provide a current driving record.
Must pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and related fixtures, including drinking fountains, refrigerated water coolers, custodial mop sinks, restroom sinks, urinals, and toilets; replenish restroom supplies.
Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors and equipment.
Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
Wash windows, mirrors, and walls.
Wash tables and chairs as required.
Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles.
Move and arrange furniture and equipment, and set up rooms for conferences and meetings.
Replace lights and adjust shades and blinds.
Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
Perform specialized projects, including restoration programs on floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and other items.
Keep the supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
