About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is hiring a full-time Custodian to clean and maintain a commercial location in Waianae, Oahu, Hawaii. The role involves keeping common areas clean and tidy, maintaining cleaning-supply inventory, and reporting maintenance issues. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours either 8:36 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for 32 to 40 hours per week. The hourly pay rate is $16.00 to $18.25. Training will be provided. The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

Pass the HBM prescreen check.
Strong public relations and communication skills, with proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.
Ability to work independently or with a team.
Ability to perform basic manual labor and cleaning duties.
Ability to frequently lift, push, press, pull, and carry at least 30 pounds and up to 50 pounds.
Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down stairways, use an elevator, and climb a ladder.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and throughout shifts.
Willingness to work under various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, or a related role preferred; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Keep building common areas clean and tidy.
Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, sanitize, and vacuum.
Empty trash and recycling into designated bins and replace trash-bag liners.
Wipe down surfaces and address spills.
Push trash bins.
Maintain grounds and areas including the pool area, laundry, gym, sauna, office, lobby, and restrooms with bathrooms and showers.
Restock supplies as necessary.
Operate a leaf blower machine.
Use a buffer-scrubber machine in high-traffic locations.
Report maintenance issues.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by HBM management.
