About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. The role performs janitorial duties, follows daily schedules, maintains cleaning equipment and work areas, and supports the shift lead and team. Responsibilities also include handling special and hazardous waste, reporting incidents and hazardous conditions, following safety procedures, using personal protective equipment, and communicating professionally with coworkers, supervisors, managers, and customers. Travel to different work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. No specific education is required. Three to six months of training or experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A driver's license may be required depending on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements. Safety and task training certification must be completed, and forklift certification may be required. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Compensation is $16.00–$17.00 per hour. Requirements

Ability to perform the essential duties safely and satisfactorily.
No specific education requirement.
Completion of all safety and task training certification.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Ability to frequently sit and talk or listen.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all tasks listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship, receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the assigned area and cleaning equipment.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, protocols, and company rules; stop at-risk behavior by oneself or others.
Perform work assignments with other employees, including repetitive tasks.
Maintain a clean work area and use proper personal protective equipment.
Follow direction and respond to supervision; communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, and understand customer service and satisfaction.
Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities when necessary to perform essential job functions.
Understand reporting systems and the work environment.
