About The Position

The Custodian cleans and maintains office work areas and washrooms in an orderly condition. The role includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing trash and refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, and fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; supplying materials; performing minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Must be able to take and follow directions.
• Must be able to identify and understand chemicals.
• Must have knowledge of custodial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, bathrooms, and offices using established practices and procedures.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers; and refill restroom dispensers.
• Follow instructions for the use of chemicals and supplies.
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.
• Wash accessible interior and exterior windows.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and paper products for assigned work areas and replenish them when needed.
• Understand and demonstrate proper safety practices and ensure departmental standards are maintained.
• Follow established company policies and procedures related to Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.
• Complete related assignments as needed to support the organization’s mission.
