About The Position

The Custodian performs on-site custodial work according to contract specifications. The role includes cleaning assigned indoor and outdoor areas and assisting with periodic floor, carpet, and window maintenance. The position is considered essential personnel and requires reporting to work during inclement weather. The Custodian may also perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to pass pre-screenings such as background or drug screenings.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to the job site and other sites as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; use assistance for loads over 50 pounds and always use a lifting belt correctly.
• Ability to work on feet for long periods.
• Ability to lift and move up and down stairs.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned indoor and outdoor work areas, including trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping or dust mopping, wet mopping, and disinfecting restrooms.
• Assist with periodic work such as stripping and sealing floors, carpet cleaning, and window washing.
• Learn and perform custodial procedures and techniques and use light and heavy custodial equipment.
• Attend required agency meetings and training sessions.
• Follow required safety procedures and policies consistently.
• Convey a positive and professional image to employees and customers.
• Relate to and understand the needs of disabled and disadvantaged individuals.
• Report to work during inclement weather as essential personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
