About The Position

To perform custodian cleaning and housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment conducive to the educational process.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent require
• Capable of moving heavy furniture, working off of step-ladders, and operating custodial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, polishers and mops
• Experience in cleaning and housekeeping tasks
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Holds a valid driver's license and has reliable transportation to/from work.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping duties as assigned, including but not limited to: vacuum, sweep and mop floors, dust and clean furniture, empty waste baskets, clean dry-erase and/or chalk boards, wash windows, clean and disinfect restrooms, and other tasks as assigned.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment, such as floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, buffers and carpel extractors.
• Maintains a clean and organized custodial supplies closet and custodial cart, requesting supplies in advance of running out
• Follows verbal and w1itten instructions from Supervisor.
• Follows written label instructions for the proper measuring, mixing and the safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Opens and secures assigned areas
• Reports building or equipment repair needs to Supervisor.
• Plans own work to assure that all assigned tasks are completed at an acceptable level of quality within the allotted time.
• Requests supplies and equipment
• All other duties as directed by the supervisor
