About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the facility or plant and providing assistance where needed. The role includes cleaning production areas and facilities, performing basic maintenance and equipment upkeep, and helping other departments with production as needed. The associate will be cross-trained in multiple areas. The work takes place in a manufacturing environment and requires use of safety equipment when operating machinery and tools.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Comfort working around chemicals and other cleaning products.
Basic maintenance skills.
Comfort working independently.
Self-motivated and able to complete tasks to the best of one's ability with little or no supervision.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; frequent lifting of materials up to 30 pounds is required.
Use required safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats when operating machinery and tools.
Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Responsibilities

Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Provide light maintenance to equipment.
Move product as needed to facilitate production processes.
Perform daily equipment upkeep and safety inspections.
Keep production areas and facilities clean and neat.
Perform basic routine maintenance on equipment and basic routine upkeep on facilities.
Communicate with other departments to assist with production.
Cross-train in multiple areas and provide help as needed.
