About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs janitorial and scheduled duties, maintains assigned areas and equipment, and may handle special and hazardous waste. Work is performed safely, in accordance with company procedures, and in coordination with coworkers and supervisors. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Compensation is $15.00–$16.00 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all required safety and task-training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive for work must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
May be required to be forklift certified.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, equipment upkeep and care, and cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability.

Forklift certification, if required for the position.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all tasks listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the daily upkeep of the assigned area and cleaning equipment.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior by self and others; and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Perform repetitive tasks, maintain a clean work area, and work with other employees as a team.
Follow protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, and understand customer service, satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
