About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs janitorial and hazardous-waste duties, operates motorized cleaning equipment, and maintains the assigned area and equipment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., at $19.50 per hour. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all safety and task training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, equipment upkeep and care, and cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability is a plus.
Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the daily upkeep of the assigned area and cleaning equipment.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor; comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; and stop at-risk behavior by oneself or others.
Perform repetitive tasks, maintain a clean work area, and work with other employees as a team.
Follow company protocols, procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
