About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs janitorial duties and hazardous-waste handling, operates motorized cleaning equipment, maintains assigned areas, and follows safety procedures and company protocols. The position works with other employees and communicates professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers. It has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Compensation is $15.00–$16.00 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Preferred: 3–6 months of training or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all safety and task-training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive as part of their duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
May be required to be forklift certified.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, cleaning-equipment upkeep and care, and cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability is a plus.
3–6 months of training or experience is preferred.
Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and complete duties listed on the daily schedule.
Handle hazardous-waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily upkeep of assigned areas and keep the work area clean.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others; and use proper personal protective equipment.
Perform work assignments as part of a team and complete repetitive tasks.
Follow protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, understand customer service and satisfaction, and understand reporting systems and the work environment.
