About The Position

The Building People, LLC, has an opening for a Janitor/Custodian to maintain and protect its facilities. The custodian is responsible for keeping the premises clean and tidy and preventing vandalism. The role requires meticulous, thorough work, physical endurance to cover a large space, attention to detail, and diligence.

Requirements

• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Very good physical condition and strength.
• Must be able to pass a basic federal background check investigation.
• Must have sufficient English proficiency to perform contract duties, comply with installation emergency procedures, read and understand printed regulations, written orders, operating procedures, training instructions, and materials.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma (preferred but not required).
• Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of the use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare spaces for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces.
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets.
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers, and restock disposables such as soap.
• Wipe mirrors and windows.
