About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is hiring a part-time Custodian in Mililani, Oahu, Hawaii. The role is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities and includes routine cleaning, restocking supplies, painting, and minor parking-lot pothole repairs. The position is scheduled for 16 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with an hourly pay rate of $17.50. Training is available, and previous related experience is preferred.

Requirements

Must pass the HBM prescreen check.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Good public relations and communication skills.
Ability to perform manual labor and clean common areas.
Ability to frequently lift, pull, and carry at least 50 pounds.
Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, use stairs and a ladder, and stand throughout shifts.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous janitorial, custodial, or related experience preferred; training is available.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas by sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, removing and disposing of trash, and cleaning or wiping down areas.
Use a ladder to access elevated areas and climb onto the roof.
Empty trash receptacles, wastebaskets, and recyclables, and dispose of them in designated areas.
Restock cleaning supplies.
Paint the facility.
Patch potholes in the parking lot to help maintain a safe, smooth surface for vehicles and pedestrians.
Multitask and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Follow safety procedures.
Maintain professionalism and provide customer service.
Communicate effectively with the supervisor, coworkers, vendors, and property manager.
Report safety issues or building problems, such as burnt-out light bulbs.
Notify appropriate HBM employees about cleaning supplies and equipment that are needed.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or property management.
