About The Position

The Custodian keeps the building premises, internally and/or externally, clean and orderly. The role cleans assigned areas and maintains shop spaces and the maintenance closet. The position requires knowledge and proper use of job-related equipment, the ability to work with minimal supervision or as part of a team, flexibility, dependability, and a willingness to learn. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, sweep, and mop assigned areas.
• Empty trash cans in assigned areas.
• Empty steel bins and/or scrap bins in assigned areas.
• Wipe down and clean cabinets, desks, and similar items in assigned areas.
• Wipe down and clean machinery in assigned areas.
• Keep the maintenance closet picked up and in proper order.
• Put dirty mop heads in the proper location.
• Report malfunctions or problems with rider and walk-behind floor scrubbers to the supervisor.
• Keep all shop corners picked up and clean.
• Keep areas behind all shop machines picked up and clean.
