About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas. The role performs janitorial work, follows a daily schedule, maintains assigned areas and cleaning equipment, and completes hazardous-waste handling duties. The employee works with a team, follows safety and company procedures, uses appropriate personal protective equipment, responds to supervision, and communicates professionally with coworkers, managers, leads, and customers. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Compensation is $17–$18 per hour. No specific education is required; 3–6 months of training or experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs. Employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements. Safety and task training certification must be completed, and forklift certification may be required. The employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or listen and must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Preferred: 3–6 months of training or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all required safety and task training certification.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Ability to perform the essential duties safely and satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily upkeep of assigned areas and keep the work area clean.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, company protocols, and other applicable rules; stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others.
Perform repetitive tasks and work assignments as part of a team.
Take direction and respond to supervision; support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Fill in during staff shortages.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
