About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for ensuring the assigned building is clean and orderly. This includes tasks such as emptying trash and recycling, cleaning bathrooms, and reporting any hazards. The role also requires the ability to perform duties on the production line when needed and operate a forklift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks
• Possess working knowledge of the methods, technique, and materials used in custodial work
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure the assigned building is clean and orderly
• Empty and clean trash and recycling receptacles
• Use forklift to remove large items from facility
• Call and schedule removal of trash, cardboard, and metal recycling
• Clean, sanitize, and supply bathrooms
• Clean and service custodial equipment as needed
• Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department
• Ability and willingness to perform duties on the production line when needed
