About The Position

The Custodian works on a crew under the general supervision of the Manager to maintain an acceptable standard of cleanliness at various City facilities. The role includes inspecting equipment, following safety rules and policies, and traveling between facilities to perform custodial duties. The schedule is 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of related custodial experience.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Sweep, dust, mop, and vacuum floors, stairwells, carpets, and mats, performing spot cleaning as needed.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, countertops, and partitions, and replenish supplies.
Wipe down windows, glass doors, mirrors, laminate tables, and other building surfaces.
Dust, polish, and clean office furniture, light fixtures, and blinds.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles, replace liners, and dispose of waste appropriately.
Strip, wax, buff, and shampoo various flooring types using appropriate equipment.
Drive and maintain a clean City vehicle to perform duties at various locations.
Climb ladders up to 12 feet to perform tasks.
Abide by safety rules, review safety data sheets, and immediately report safety hazards.
Secure facilities upon entrance and departure.
Inspect custodial equipment, communicate maintenance issues, and maintain adequate cleaning supplies at assigned facilities.
Identify and report needed fixture or building repairs to the Crew Leader and/or Custodial Foreman.
Attend and participate in safety, operations, and policy/procedure training sessions.
Follow City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
