About The Position

The Custodian performs cleaning and custodial work, general maintenance and repairs, and grounds work as needed at First Community Church in Columbus, Ohio. The role requires previous knowledge of cleaning or custodial work and a reliable, trustworthy, responsible, energetic team player who takes pride in their work. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with flexible hours to accommodate the church schedule. Qualified candidates must successfully pass a background check.

The job requires lifting and managing supplies, packages, tables, and chairs weighing up to 65 pounds. Physical activities include bending, lifting, standing, climbing, ladder work, using a shovel and power equipment, handling maintenance supplies, and sitting on the floor. The role also requires close visual acuity for tasks such as reading, inspecting, color coding, viewing computer screens, and working with small parts at close distances.

Requirements

• Previous knowledge of cleaning or custodial work.
• Be reliable, trustworthy, responsible, energetic, and a team player who takes pride in their work.

• Successfully pass a background check.
• Ability to lift and manage supplies, packages, tables, and chairs weighing up to 65 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and deep cleaning of spaces.
