About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas. The role performs janitorial work, follows daily schedules, maintains assigned areas and cleaning equipment, and handles special and hazardous waste according to required procedures. The Custodian follows safety protocols, uses appropriate personal protective equipment, reports incidents and hazardous conditions, and works professionally with team members, supervisors, managers, and customers. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Compensation is $17–$20 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all required safety and task training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
May be required to be forklift certified.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability.

Forklift certification, if required for the position.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and complete duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the assigned area and cleaning equipment.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor; follow safety rules, policies, and procedures and address at-risk behavior.
Perform work assignments with other employees, including repetitive tasks, and maintain a clean work area.
Follow protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
