About The Position
The Custodian maintains proper levels of cleanliness in assigned areas at Washington and Lee University. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The expected pay rate is $19.52–$21.28 per hour. Offers are based on qualifications, relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and market and organizational considerations. Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.
- Experience in a custodial role is preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions and provide responses in writing.
- Possess and maintain a valid Virginia vehicle operator’s license and a good driving record.
Responsibilities
- Maintain carpet and hard-surface floors.
- Dust and polish furniture.
- Wash walls and remove trash.
- Relamp and clean windows.
- Clean and stock restrooms.
- Set up special events during the week and for weekend events when necessary.
- Support campus-wide activities, including setup and snow and ice removal.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
