About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs janitorial duties, follows daily schedules and safety procedures, and may handle hazardous waste. The position works with other employees, takes direction from supervision, maintains a professional manner, and supports the shift lead and customer satisfaction. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned. The schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM. Compensation is $14.50–$15.50 per hour.

Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all safety and task training certification.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including willingness to share knowledge with the team.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and complete duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of assigned areas and work areas.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, protocols, and company rules.
Stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others.
Perform work assignments with other employees and complete repetitive tasks.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
