About The Position

Baywood Court is a not-for-profit senior living community located in Castro Valley, CA, dedicated to helping seniors live with health, happiness, and dignity. We are seeking motivated individuals with a desire to learn and make a positive impact on our residents. This is a full-time position with a shift from Thursday to Monday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, requiring availability on weekends and holidays as it is a 24/7 facility. All applicants must pass a drug screening, physical exam with TB test, and a criminal background check.

Requirements

• Interest in and ability to work with older adults.
• Ability to follow simple instructions.
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with minimal supervision.
• Works well with others and as a team player.
• Aptitude for performing all housekeeping-related tasks.
• Commitment to performing with high-quality standards.
• Completion of 8th grade education is desirable.
• Ability to read and write English is preferred.
• Janitorial/custodian experience and a good work record are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean hallways daily, including vacuuming, wall spotting, and wiping handrails.
• Clean offices and conference rooms weekly or as needed, including vacuuming, wall spotting, emptying trash, wiping down telephones and keyboards, dusting, and cleaning attached bathrooms/kitchenettes.
• Set up and break down for meetings.
• Clean and polish common areas daily, including vacuuming, dusting, wall spotting, and emptying trash.
• Clean and polish public restrooms daily, including disinfecting toilets, countertops, wall spotting in stalls and partitions, sweeping, and mopping.
• Clean elevators and tracks daily, including wall spotting inside elevators, disinfecting buttons, polishing steel inside and outside, and cleaning/polishing elevator tracks.
• Perform housekeeping duties as required.
