About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The position performs janitorial duties and follows daily schedules, safety requirements, company procedures, and directions from supervision. It also includes hazardous-waste handling and operating motorized cleaning equipment. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with compensation of $15.00–$16.00 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all safety and task training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs. Employees who drive as part of their duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
May be required to be forklift certified.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, equipment upkeep and care, and cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the assigned area and cleaning equipment.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor; follow safety rules, policies, procedures, and protocols; stop at-risk behavior by oneself or others; and use proper personal protective equipment.
Perform work assignments with other employees, complete repetitive tasks, and maintain a clean work area.
Take direction and respond to supervision; communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, understand customer service and satisfaction, and understand reporting systems and the work environment.
