About The Position

DM Burr is hiring a full-time Custodian for a second-shift position at Camden County Schools in Camden, North Carolina. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and the wage is $16.50 per hour. A $200 new-hire bonus is offered after 90 days, and the position offers DailyPay, allowing employees to access pay the day after working. The custodian cleans and cares for the assigned facility, operates and maintains cleaning equipment, stocks restrooms and shared areas, records completed work, and performs light building maintenance as needed. DM Burr is a privately owned building maintenance provider with more than 1,000 team members serving schools, government and public facilities, manufacturing plants, financial institutions, retail centers, and other settings throughout the Midwest.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or technical school certification.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
0–6 months of custodial or janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, and stripping machines.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Team aptitude and approach.

Responsibilities

Clean and care for the assigned facility using approved methods and materials.
Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines, and vacuums.
Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
Empty trash receptacles.
Remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions as needed.
Clean furniture, window sills, and walls; dust and wash walls; clean ceilings; and polish light fixtures.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas.
Clean and stock restrooms, the janitorial closet, and break rooms.
Record and document cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to the Supervisor.
Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
Report major safety items requiring repair.
Perform other duties as assigned.
