About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. The role performs janitorial duties and scheduled tasks, maintains the assigned work area, and follows applicable safety requirements, protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules. Duties include hazardous waste handling and operation and upkeep of motorized cleaning equipment. The custodian works with a team, responds to supervision, communicates professionally with colleagues, managers, and customers, and may help address staffing shortages and shift punch-list items. Driving to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, with compensation of $15.65–$16.00 per hour. Requirements

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely.
No specific education requirement.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Complete all required safety and task training certification.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive for work must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

Three to six months of training or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual ability.
Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the assigned area and work area.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, protocols, company procedures, and other rules.
Stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others.
Perform work assignments with other employees and complete repetitive tasks.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities when necessary to perform essential job functions.
