About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs scheduled janitorial work, maintains assigned areas and cleaning equipment, and handles hazardous waste in accordance with applicable procedures. The position works with a team, follows safety and company protocols, and communicates professionally with supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers. It has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Compensation is $14.00–$15.00 per hour. No specific education is required; 3–6 months of training or experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs, and forklift certification may also be required. Employees must complete safety and task training certifications. The work involves frequently sitting, talking, or listening, and requires the ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
3–6 months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all safety and task training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive for work must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
May be required to be forklift certified.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and willingness to share that knowledge with the team.
Knowledge of cleaning equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas and keep the work area clean.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Follow safety rules, company protocols, procedures, policies, and rules; use proper personal protective equipment.
Stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others.
Perform repetitive tasks and work with other employees as a team.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
