About The Position
The Custodian is responsible for performing routine custodial duties in assigned areas to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. This includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, classrooms, offices, and other facilities, as well as emptying trash receptacles, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting. The Custodian will also be responsible for minor maintenance tasks, reporting any needed repairs, and ensuring that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently to ensure all custodial tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a school environment.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance.
