About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks in assigned areas to ensure a safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves a variety of duties to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of school facilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Must be able to complete a three (3) year work history in the "Experience and Credentials" section of the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or janitorial experience.
Knowledge of safety regulations related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean windows, doors, and walls.
Maintain the cleanliness of hallways, classrooms, offices, and other assigned areas.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
Follow established safety procedures and guidelines.
Operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
